VP-Private Equity Capital Analytics and Administration
Our client is a major Houston-based private equity firm, and they seek a VP – Capital Analytics and Administration to join their Finance leadership team. The firm is growing rapidly, and this role is both visible to the executive team and critical to the success of the organization.
The VP – Capital Analytics and Administration will be the subject matter expert on all aspects of the private equity fund capital call and distribution models (“waterfall(s)”), including current and historical fund performance characteristics. This position will support the firm’s teams across multiple offices and lines of business. This position has potential for professional advancement, as this function is a critical one as the firm continues to grow aggressively.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and steward all aspects of the private equity fund capital calls and distributions.
Maintain and develop waterfalls to accurately calculate preferred returns, catch-ups, carried interests, clawbacks, and investor calls and distributions.
Manage and support cash flow and returns analysis, including updating the waterfalls and assisting with drafting and sending capital activity communications to fund investors.
Collaborate with various teams to ensure the waterfall structures align with fund documents and compliance requirements.
Coordinate with fund accounting, client solutions, and tax teams to provide timely responses to investors, prospective investors, and internal stakeholders.
Coordinate with the accounting and reporting teams to work with external auditors to validate waterfall calculations during audits and investor reviews.
Leverage emerging technology and artificial intelligence to develop efficient workflows and tools to streamline waterfall calculations and reporting processes.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, economics, engineering, or related field.
Strong financial, analytical, and technical acumen.
Excellent writing, editing, and research skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Outstanding interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the company.
Relevant experience in private equity operations, public accounting, consulting, or a financial services firm in a similar role is preferred, and a working knowledge of (or interest in) the energy industry, private equity structures, investment concepts, and financial statements is strongly preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a collaborative team structure while frequently working autonomously with little direct supervision.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and deliver projects while working in a fast-paced environment.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (including Excel).
Experience with the Anaplan platform and/or the FIS Investran private equity platform system is a plus.
Certified Public Accountant is a plus but not required.
