ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support key accounting and financial reporting activities. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to monthly close processes, financial analysis, accounts payable, budgeting, and special projects while partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with booking sales and related fees by show using Power Pivot functionality in Microsoft Excel.
Assist with the accounts payable process, including confirming banking information, coding invoices, and preparing payment requests.
Assist with the monthly preparation and review of financial statements.
Create show-by-show profit and loss reporting.
Research and explain budget variances.
Confirm general and administrative accruals and the release of prepaid expenses.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on outstanding balances.
Compile monthly summaries and coordinate with Operations to ensure timely partner payments.
Reconcile and research transactions between joint ventures.
Serve as a proxy for processing expense reports.
Assist with the annual budget process.
Support the transition of joint venture financial planning into Workday.
Participate in special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
1 1/2 to 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Experience preparing manual journal entries as part of the monthly close process.
Strong communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with Workday financial planning.
