Summary

A newly created Senior Fixed Asset Accounting position is now open for a tech company located downtown. Contribute, have fun, and the Controller will promote you! The company is growing through acquisitions and increasing revenue!

The Senior Fixed Asset Accountant will handle all daily accounting tasks for fixed assets located across multiple locations, including maintaining fixed assets listing, reconciling schedules to the general ledger, and maintaining our fixed assets ledger. You will perform financial transactions, post them in the general ledger, and ensure accurate tracking within NetSuite, always with a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities
 
  • Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system.
  • Conduct physical inventory of Fixed Assets along with assigning tag numbers.
  • Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed.
  • Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger.
  • Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.
  • Investigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assets.
  • Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
  • Provide support for preparing property tax returns.

Requirements and Skills
 
  • BBA in Accounting; master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience working/managing fixed assets
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, especially in advanced functions and spreadsheet management.
  • Sound knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Knowledge of and experience with NetSuite accounting software is a plus.
  • Experience in asset-management software is a plus.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adhere to internal reporting deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to company remote locations in TX, NC, and SC twice a year.
