ABOUT THE ROLE
This position is responsible for performing accounting activities for both the corporate entity and select operational business units. The role involves preparing accurate and timely financial statements for internal and external consolidated reporting, while serving as a liaison to the financial planning and analysis team for corporate functions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation, analytical mindset, and a passion for process improvement within a dynamic, in office work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares monthly journal entries and ensures timely posting.
Analyzes general ledger accounts monthly to confirm accuracy and support budget variance explanations.
Assists with preparation of monthly management reporting packages.
Reviews monthly financial statements and provides variance analysis.
Reviews monthly forecasts for accuracy and completeness.
Ensures monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts with detailed supporting documentation.
Prepares monthly borrowing base certificates for lending institutions.
Supports management with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests.
Utilizes industry specific ERP systems as well as Hyperion, FloQast, Viewpoint, and Axiom for reporting and analysis.
Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
Strong background in fixed assets required.
Proficiency with general ledger functions, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
Intermediate to advanced Excel and ERP systems capabilities.
Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to evolving responsibilities.
Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Capacity to identify and improve accounting processes.
A minimum of four years of accounting experience in a medium to large corporate environment.
Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation nice to have, not required.
Experience with Right-of-Use (ROU) assets and fixed assets.
Familiarity with Hyperion, Visual Lease, FloQast, and related financial systems.
Experience in a multi-entity or international corporate environment.
