SENIOR ACCOUNTANT - HYBRID
HOUSTON, TX CREATED OUT OF GROWTH – ACQUISITIONS & ORGANIC
Summary:

Growing services’ company with domestic and international operations has made several acquisitions in the past three years and has enjoyed organic growth. The Corporate Controller is expanding the back office to manage the expansion. Work in a hybrid environment and help develop your own team!

Specifics include:
This position responsible for general accounting activities including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers, and preparing account and bank reconciliations. This position works closely with the Controller and other key accounting team members to assist with day-to-day accounting operations, including the preparation of periodic budgets/forecasts, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and the period-end closing process.  
This position requires a fundamental understanding of general accounting operations (GAAP), previous experience with accounting systems/platforms (preferably Elite 3E), and extensive experience with internal and external financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

•     Preparation of monthly journal entries, AR collections, monthly AP processing.
•     Analyze and explain variances - actuals to budget and week-over-week forecasts.
•     Ensure that revenue and expenses are recorded correctly, in the correct period and properly accrued.
•     Create and maintain various Excel spreadsheets for revenue and deficiency tracking as needed.
•     Prepare and assist with annual budgeting process and analysis.
•     Review monthly accounting / billing system changes, including new contracts, amendments, credits, and billing.
•     Maintain and prepare balance sheet reconciliations and ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
•     Support Controller &Accounting Manager with month-end closing process including various accruals.
•     Other accounting and finance duties and reporting as requested, including assisting with internal and external audits, and providing additional reports to management as required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible professional experience.
  • Experience in similar industry preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a CPA or CPA candidate.
