SUMMARY:
Growing real estate investment firm seeks a dynamic Accounting/Finance Associate to join their successful and growing team.

DESCRIPTION:
Our client is a Houston based, multi-location and multi fund investment firm located in Central Houston.  They are growing and expanding, which has created the need to hire additional accounting support.  

In this role, you'll be pivotal in supporting the portfolio management
functions, including general accounting and financial reporting,  portfolio modeling, developing fund-level business plans, coordinating debt placements, and conducting in-depth ad-hoc analyses. Additionally, you will be responsible for corporate accounting of the management company.

Position Responsibilities:

? Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements for the management company including analyzing performance and providing detailed reports to management
? Track and maintain portfolio and asset level performance
? Assist in annual Portfolio budgets while building a working understanding of underlying asset's revenue, operating expenses, and debt obligations
? Manage and document loan terms including covenant testing, debt service requirements, and maturity schedules
? Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement in portfolio financial performance
? Prepare refinancing and disposition related summaries for investment committee
? Collaborate with portfolio management and IR teams to respond to investor inquiries, monitor portfolio performance, and track key performance indicators
? Track critical dates
? Review of operating partner waterfalls and fund-level waterfalls to ensure compliance with partnership documents
? Oversee housing affordability compliance reporting to meet regulatory requirements
? Monitor and manage the cash flow of the management company, ensuring there are sufficient funds for operations and handling the timely processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable
? Legal entity management


Requirements:
• Cultural fit is key. The ideal candidate is low-ego and collaborative, while being responsible and self-motivated
  • 2-3 years experience required, more is desirable
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year university required
• Real estate industry experience desirable
• Comprehensive understanding of general accounting and financial concepts and real estate fundamentals desired
• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor processes and prioritize tasks
• Role is fully in person,  based in Houston, TX
