SENIOR ACCOUNTANT – CREDIT & ALLOWANCE ACCOUNTING
North Houston
Hybrid Schedule – 3 days work f rom home + 2 days in office
Summary:
The Senior Accountant, Credit Accounting is part of the team responsible for the accounting and reporting elements for lending and leasing for the company. The Senior Accountant will also focus on the accounting for the company’s bad debt allowance and reporting.

Summary:
The Senior Accountant, Credit Accounting is part of the team responsible for the accounting and reporting elements for lending and leasing for the company. The Senior Accountant will also focus on the accounting for the company’s bad debt allowance and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with analysts and other accountants on the team as well internal stakeholders in obtaining inputs required to derive the amount of the allowance for expected credit losses on our loan portfolio.
- Developing and recording receivable and inventory reserves for our lease to own portfolio.
- Partnering with Treasury on debt issuances to execute proper accounting analysis and ongoing accounting.
- Preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations ensuring proper support is included.
- Performing analytical reviews of critical credit accounting metrics.
- Preparing and delivering presentations on credit accounting results.
- Providing support for financial statement disclosures.
- Responding to internal and external audit requests.
- Partnering with internal stakeholders in ensuring critical deliverables needed are accurately executed and received in a timely manner, root causes of issues impacting accounting are identified and properly addressed, and that team, business, finance and/or other initiatives are understood and prioritized.
- Staying abreast of new/upcoming GAAP Accounting Standards Updates (ASU) impacting areas of responsibility and collaborating with own team, External Reporting, and internal stakeholders in assessing applicability, assessing what is needed to comply, developing, and executing plan to implement.
- Developing, socializing, obtaining approval for and executing plans to automate/streamline processes and controls wherever possible.
- CPA Certification strongly desired.
- 5+ years of prior industry or public accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- CPA Certification strongly desired.
- Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP.
- Financial Services or Lessor industry experience is a plus.
