Job Description

Our client, a growing Houston based LMM Energy Infrastructure and Services and Industrial Services PE firm, is seeking an Analyst/Associate to join its investment team. This individual will be part of an investment team and gain exposure to all facets of the private equity investment process, and will play a key role in the evaluation and execution of investment opportunities, as well as in the monitoring of portfolio companies and the investment portfolio, in total. Working on small deal teams in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment, Analysts/Associates will have the opportunity to work closely with senior members of the firm, as well as senior management team members of portfolio companies.

The firm is a 15+ year old, operationally oriented private investment firm focused on acquiring, recapitalizing or providing growth capital to lower middle market energy infrastructure, energy services, and industrial services companies.

The firm seeks to provide flexile capital solutions to privately held, lower middle market businesses with proven business models and seasoned management teams across a variety of structures including senior debt, subordinated debt, and preferred and common equity. 

Primary Responsibilities:
• Evaluating and analyzing new investment opportunities
• Performing financial analysis and modeling
• Supporting due diligence processes, including industry, sub-sector and company specific research
• Assisting with portfolio company monitoring and interaction
• Assisting with the portfolio monitoring and reporting, including valuation analysis
• Additional ad-hoc projects as required

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required with a strong academic record
• 1-4 years of relevant experience from a leading investment bank, PE firm, SBIC/BDC, or Big 4 Accounting firm. 
• Proficiency with Excel and financial modeling
• Proficiency with PowerPoint and other presentation resources. Able to synthesize voluminous information into a concise presentation
• Strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting and valuation methodologies
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
• High level of maturity, strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously and as a team player in a highly collaborative environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills. Engaging, inquisitive and eager to contribute and learn
