Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Energy and Power Market Data Tech Lead to join our client's dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Python programming and possess a deep understanding of energy markets, including energy price and fundamental data. The Market Data Tech Lead will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining data scrapers, testing frameworks, and quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of datasets.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of market data scrapers to collect energy price and fundamental data from various sources.
  • Design and maintain testing frameworks to conduct thorough quality checks on datasets, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including traders, analysts, and developers, to understand data requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Monitor data integrity and performance, troubleshooting issues and implementing optimizations as needed.
  • Stay informed about market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in the energy sector to drive innovation and enhance our competitive advantage.
  • Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth and development.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Python programming with a strong emphasis on data manipulation and analysis.
  • Extensive knowledge of energy markets, including experience with energy price and fundamental data.
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining data scrapers for real-time and historical data collection.
  • Solid understanding of testing methodologies and experience with testing frameworks (e.g., PyTest, unittest) for data validation and quality assurance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in commodity trading or financial services
