Full-Time In-Office IT Administrator – Local Houston Company

A reputable, Houston-based company is seeking a full-time, in-office IT Administrator to manage and support its technology infrastructure. This hands-on role is ideal for a well-rounded IT professional with experience in systems administration, cybersecurity, user support, and cloud services. Candidates should have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Systems Administration & Maintenance: Oversee and maintain network infrastructure, physical/virtual servers, workstations, printers, and other IT assets to ensure peak performance and security.

  • Cybersecurity Monitoring & Implementation: Protect the firm’s systems through firewalls, antivirus, intrusion detection/prevention, and data loss prevention tools. Monitor for threats and respond to security incidents.

  • Data Backup & Recovery: Design and test backup and disaster recovery strategies to support business continuity.

  • User Support & Training: Provide prompt technical support and training to staff for hardware, software, and network issues.

  • Salesforce Support: Apply prior Salesforce administrator experience to assist with user management, basic configurations, reports, and troubleshooting (if applicable).

  • Cloud Services Management: Maintain secure and cost-effective cloud services (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS).

  • Vendor Coordination: Work with third-party vendors for IT products and services, ensuring performance and service-level expectations are met.

  • Documentation: Create and update detailed documentation for systems, configurations, procedures, and policies.

  • Tech Evaluation & Implementation: Identify and implement technology solutions that enhance operations, efficiency, and security.

  • Compliance & Security Audits: Assist in meeting compliance requirements and preparing for audits.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional are a plus) or equivalent work experience. 

  • 3–5 years of IT support and systems administration experience; law firm or professional services experience is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including user support and administration.

  • Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).

  • Proficiency in Windows Server and desktop environments.

  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity practices and tools.

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

  • Self-starter with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
