Our electrical infrastructure construction and services client located in the Houston Metropolitan area is seeking to add an HR Manager to their organization. This is a newly formed position for a rapidly growing company that is in the early stages of formation. The founders are very successful entrepreneurs, and they plan to grow the company rapidly through acquisitions. This is a great opportunity for an HR Manager to demonstrate their knowledge with all facets of HR and help to develop an HR department that will be an integral part of the organization. Will work closely with the executive management team, so you must be comfortable in a highly visible position. Also, you must remain efficient and "hands on" in the details.
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for all human resource functions including policy design and development, compliance analysis and reporting, recruiting, on-boarding, training curriculum development & implementation, and employee benefits management and analysis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement strategies for recruiting personnel for all operations and corporate positions
Process and onboard new hires
Review, develop, implement, and administer HR policies for the Company
Develop, implement, and administer an annual employee performance appraisal program
Assist supervisory personnel in counseling of low performing employees
Maintain company policies, including Company Handbook and Safety Manual
Maintain company safety statistics
Administer and assist in the maintenance of all Company benefit and insurance programs
Insure compliance and appropriate reporting with local, State, and Federal agencies
Administer and maintain all personnel and payroll files
Process out-going employees
Develop and implement personnel training programs
Facilitate positive company culture
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
Ability to exercise effective judgment and sensitivity in employee relation situations and be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Ability to develop strong working relationships. Good team building, coaching, and mentoring skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task, assess needs, influence, collaborate and deliver results.
Minimum 5-7 years of progressive Human Resources experience
Extensive experience in recruiting, team building, training, and developing human resource policies and procedures
Ability to coach, advise and fully partner with company managers and steer team leadership
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Familiarity with applicable state and federal regulations
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
PHR or SPHR preferred or working towards certification
Benefit administration experience to include wellness benefits and 401(k) plans
Payroll processing experience and knowledge is a plus
Computer proficient with Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word, and Outlook
Prior experience in an industrial industry is a plus
