ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to support its continued growth and operational complexity. Reporting to the Group Controller, this fully onsite role supports corporate and branch accounting functions, oversees financial reporting, general accounting, project accounting, reconciliations, and brings expertise in percentage of completion accounting. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with operations, field offices, and cross-functional teams while maintaining financial accuracy across multiple entities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for general ledger management and ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure all transactions comply with GAAP
Prepare and analyze Percentage of Completion and Work in Progress reports
Maintain financial integrity across entities and business units
Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and consistent expense coding
Lead process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy across accounting systems
Support the implementation and optimization of MS 365 Dynamics Business Central across branch locations
Assist with annual audit and tax filings by coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors
Ensure compliance with state regulations including sales tax reporting
Prepare monthly financial statements for bank reporting and track ongoing debt covenants
Perform variance analysis and investigate financial variances for internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate with the finance team on budgeting and forecasting processes
Perform consolidations and eliminations for group financial reporting
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Three to five years of progressive accounting experience including public accounting and industry experience preferred
CPA designation or eligibility strongly preferred
MBA or Master’s in Accounting preferred
Strong technical knowledge of GAAP
Strong proficiency in MS Business Central and advanced Excel
Experience with Percentage of Completion reporting strongly preferred
Previous external audit experience preferred
Exceptional analytical and reconciliation skills
Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication abilities
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and thrive in a team-oriented environment
