ABOUT THE ROLE

This Senior Accountant role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial operations, supporting strategic financial planning, and driving process improvements. Reporting to the Controller, this position requires strong analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and effective communication across departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyze daily cash receipts and payments with accurate posting and reconciliation
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses for strategic planning
  • Execute month-end and year-end close processes including reconciliations and journal entries
  • Collaborate with internal departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies
  • Mentor and develop junior team members to support their professional growth
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency
  • Execute and support day-to-day accounting tasks including invoices, collections, and credit management
  • Prepare and review balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Implement and monitor standard cost systems and explain variances to operations
  • Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and intercompany transactions
  • Support audit and tax requirements including schedules, documentation, and PBC lists
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls
  • Maintain compliance and tax calendars
  • Stay current on changes in accounting standards and assess organizational impact
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Ability to become proficient in industry-specific accounting software
  • Intermediate Excel skills including VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, Pivot Tables, and data analysis
  • Effective communication with clients and coworkers
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ownership mentality and problem-solving mindset
  • Responsiveness to internal and external customers
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • CPA certification preferred
