FINANCIAL ASSOCIATE
ENERGY CORRIDOR 9/80 SCHEDULE
OVERVIEW

Growing Houston-based PE firm is adding a new position to their Finance and Accounting organization that will oversee the portfolio investments.

Initially, the Financial Associate will be responsible for financial reporting to learn the business and then the head of finance will teach you financial modeling! All you need is Big4 audit experience (4-6 years) with clients in private equity, financial services, i-banking, or small energy companies.

INITIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting
  • Prepare external reporting package to be used internally and externally to investors, banking institutions, etc.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements to close the month. Ensure accuracy, record transactions, and ensure compliance with GAAP reporting standards.
  • Coordinate with operations to delivery quarterly ESG compliance after end of the quarter.
  • Research accounting treatment of transactions and updated standards as needed.
  • Maintain relationships with auditors, outsourced Big4 tax firm, and corporate filings.

Banking
  • Manage relationships with banks.
  • Prepare a weekly forecast of cash flows based off current assumptions, revenue projections, and cost predictions.
  • Work with reservoir engineering and marketing groups to prepare an analysis of production assumptions and estimates.

RESPONSIBILITIES AFTER MOVE TO FINANCE ASSOCIATE

Annual budget/quarterly forecasting/monthly analysis:
  • Budget Management: Develop, implement, and maintain the annual budget. Ensure alignment with the organization’s financial goals and objectives.
  • Forecasting: Perform quarterly forecasting to provide accurate predictions of future financial performance, analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations.
  • Cash Flow Analysis: Develop and manage cash forecasting activities, predicting future financial positions and budget requirements.
  • Reporting: Create and improve the dashboard presenting to executive-level
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve processes to enhance effectiveness and efficiency in financial operations within the clinical sphere.

QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • CPA or parts passed.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of Big4 audit experience, ideally with financial services, private equity, i-banking, or small cap energy clients.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to learn financial modeling.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficient in financial software and advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with capacity to interact at all levels.
  • Team player with a demonstrated great attitude.
  • Creative problem-solving ability and sound judgment – ability to use own initiative and take responsibility for decisions.
  • See ahead to future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects with the highest attention to detail.
