FP&A DIRECTOR

Summary
This is a newly created position in the company, which is very visible to the C-suite.

As Director of FP&A, you will work with the VP of FP&A, the CFO, CEO, and other members of the leadership team. You will be pivotal in decision support and work across departments and functional groups to provide a wide range of key metrics forecasts, variance analysis, and reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Own corporate budgeting and planning processes 
  • Conducts variance analysis on actuals vs forecast and forecast vs forecast; conducts trend analysis
  • Produces short- and long-term forecasts for key metrics, including sensitivities
  • Builds and maintains models for GAAP and non-GAAP financial and operational metrics
  • Assists with month- and quarter-end reporting and analysis, including preparation of board reports, supporting analysis for SEC reporting, and investor relations requests  
  • Process improvement – actively develop ways to improve systems, reports, and models; move Excel models to a systems-based approach and point out needed upstream IT/data improvements
  • Manages and coaches professional FP&A staff that efficiently serves stakeholders
  • Ad hoc analysis to support management decision-making
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • MBA/CFA preferred
  • Initial experience in Big4 audit
  • Proven track record as a Director, FP&A, or in a similar leadership capacity.
  • 6+ years’ experience with accountability for managing direct reports
  • Able to master new financial/information systems quickly
  • Experience with enterprise cloud financial reporting software, along with a high proficiency in Excel
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and overall business/commercial operations
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a focus on mentoring and developing top talent
  • Excellent emotional intelligence (EQ), communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with planning tools like OneStream
  • Tableau and/or Salesforce experience a plus
  • Experience with structured finance, asset-level debt, and tax equity waterfalls structures also a plus
  • Self-starter, proactive personality
  • Able to direct and motivate others, even outside of team/group
  • Strategic mindset
