Houston based, global Chemicals manufacturer seeks experienced Director of Finance/Controller
DESCRIPTION:
Our stable, growing, international chemicals client with corporate offices in Houston seeks a high level candidate who can wear many hats. This company is looking for someone able to oversee finance, accounting, administrative, IT and HR in an in person role in South Houston. This position oversees financial planning and is responsible for all matters impacting financial performance, and works very closely with operations. Specifically, this role has the following responsibilities:
Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks
Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems
Set up and oversee the company’s ERP system
Set targets for and supervise all accounting and procurement personnel
Oversee all audit and internal control operations
Develop the corporate investment strategy with key stakeholders
Developing and promoting policies that ensure positive interaction between administrative staff and other personnel
Organize the workplace so that the workflow is streamlined
Oversee the timely issuance of financial performance reports
Conduct analysis to make forecasts and report to senior management
Act as primary contact with PEO and ensure we are getting maximum value
Ensure adherence with contracts with suppliers
Ensure adherence to laws and guidelines, including GAAP
REQUIREMENTS:
BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field
MBA
CPA or other relevant qualification is a plus
Proven experience as Director of Finance, Controller or similar role
In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
Preference will be given to candidates that have implemented ERP systems, specifically Sage
An analytical mind with a strategic ability
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
