ABOUT OUR CLIENT

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Controller will serve as a key member of the management team, leading the firm’s accounting function and financial reporting processes. This role offers significant growth potential and the opportunity to build and refine accounting infrastructure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven private equity environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial and accounting policies and procedures
  • Direct research of accounting guidance and implement related policies
  • Ensure appropriate application of GAAP and industry-specific accounting regulations
  • Manage financial closing and reporting functions and meet all reporting deadlines
  • Establish and maintain internal controls over financial reporting
  • Coordinate all communications and activities with external auditors
  • Collaborate with external tax professionals on tax planning and compliance
  • Assist in preparation of investor presentations and financial reports
  • Support executive management in fundraising activities
  • Prepare internal financial reporting packages and ad-hoc reports for management and the board of directors
  • Perform personnel management functions including staff planning, supervision, development, and performance evaluations
  • Partner with the investment team on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Manage financial and accounting integrations and system or process conversions
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant designation
  • 10 or more years of accounting experience including private equity accounting and reporting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting guidance
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate staff
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Professional presence with strong communication and presentation abilities
  • Ability to present complex information clearly to executive leadership
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a deadline-sensitive environment
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting or MBA
  • Big 4 and industry combination experience
  • Experience with valuations and financial modeling
  • Accounting leadership experience supporting private equity fundraising activities
