DESCRIPTION:

The Controller will lead day-to-day accounting operations and monthly reporting in downtown Austin. A candidate who takes initiative, leads by example, and takes pride in their work will thrive here.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Oversee all aspects of the accounting department
- Perform/oversee the month-end financial reporting process, including preparing and/or reviewing journal entries, cash flow modeling, and financial reporting
- Perform/oversee the budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling process via Workday Adaptive Planning
- Creation and implementation of internal controls and processes for all accounting functions
- Oversee treasury management and liquidity position
- Loan compliance coordination with lending relationships
- Coordinate with tax CPA regarding all tax matters and relevant third-party consultants (valuation, cost segregation, tax specialists, etc.)
- Collaborate with both in-house and outsourced property management and property accounting for real estate portfolio
- Ad-hoc financial modeling and reporting
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting or finance preferably in a family office or small CPA firm setting
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Strong understanding of financial statements, Excel, and forecasting
- Familiarity with Quickbooks or other similar accounting software
- Decision-making capabilities on significant matters including forecasting and accounting processes and procedures
- Experience preparing accounting and financial statements
- Experience managing and leading a team in an accounting role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interacting with employees, consultants, and principals
- Excellent attention to detail with an ability to produce high quality accurate work in a deadline-driven environment
- Highest degree of personal integrity, judgement, and professional ethic
- CPA strongly preferred
- Experience with real estate accounting
- Familiarity with Workday Adaptive Planning
