ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Client is seeking a skilled Business Analyst with strong Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) experience for a contract engagement. This role will focus on supporting an EDI assessment, vendor evaluation, and implementation as part of a major transformation project. The position is remote with occasional travel to the end-client site as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead discovery and assessment activities related to EDI processes, systems, and trading partner requirements
Gather and analyze business requirements by engaging stakeholders across operations, IT, and external vendors
Document current-state EDI processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements
Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical requirements
Facilitate workshops, meetings, and documentation sessions to align cross-functional teams
Provide strategic recommendations to support consulting teams and client leadership
Assist in roadmap development and planning for EDI system upgrades or migrations
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in consulting or client-facing roles
Proven experience with EDI systems, standards (X12, EDIFACT, etc.), and trading partner integrations
Experience with Oracle and Clio is a plus
Strong understanding of EDI-related processes in industries such as logistics, healthcare, or retail
Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills
Experience supporting vendor evaluations and selection processes
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating across teams
Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for on-site client meetings
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with system modernization or digital transformation projects
Familiarity with EDI software platforms such as Gentran, IBM Sterling, or SPS Commerce
Background supporting RFP development and vendor scorecards
