Job Description

Our West area legal client is seeking to add an Billing Clerk to their law firm's accounting team. The Billing Clerk should be a motivated team player continually willing to learn, is task oriented, and is meticulous with their work product.  This position is a direct report to the firm's Controller.

DUTIES INCLUDE:
  • Post receipts in client accounts, write offs, payment reversals and refunds.
  • Perform billing duties, such as print drafts, revisions, electronic submissions, and appeals.
  • Conduct research and analysis of client accounts as requested. 
  • Post trust deposits and write checks for client trust transactions.
  • Maintain communication with attorneys, staff and clients on receivable matters as directed by Financial Administrator. 
  • Perform bank reconciliations for various accounts as needed.
  • Create and maintain accounting/billing procedures manual as needed.
  • Generate reports from TABS billing software.
  • Set up clients in TABS billing software.

REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Ideal candidate has an exemplary customer service mindset is highly motivated and enjoys a team-oriented atmosphere. An ownership mentality, a commitment to proactive communication and exceptional follow through skills are absolutely necessary for success in this position.
  • College Degree in Accounting or Business preferred.
  • 3-5 years hands-on accounting, AP, AR and billing experience.
  • TABS experience preferred.
  • Outlook & Excel (Intermediate level at minimum). 
  • Electronic billing software knowledge required.
  • Payroll experience a plus.
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail, accuracy, and neatness.
  • Ability to perform at a high level in a fast paced ever-changing work environment.
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively (written and verbal) with all levels of personnel.  
  • Work collaboratively and cooperatively with others while maintaining a high degree of professionalism. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
