Our environmental services client is seeking a part-time Benefits Specialist to support the firms HR and Benefits functions.This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who excels in benefits administration and employee support. The employee will play a key role in ensuring smooth benefits processing, payroll accuracy, and employee satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary resource for employee inquiries via email, phone, and other communication channels.
Maintain, update, and distribute the employee handbook.
Conduct new hire orientations covering company policies, procedures, and benefits.
Lead the annual benefits kick-off meeting to introduce benefit packages and facilitate enrollment.
Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
Process new hire data to ensure accurate enrollment in ADP, health care benefits, and 401K programs.
Format and upload 401K withholdings to the provider.
Assist with HSA withholdings and ensure accurate uploads.
Support benefit provider negotiations and explore potential new benefit options.
Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
Address and manage any employee discrimination or harassment complaints.
Manage employee terminations and related administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR and benefits administration.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Strong understanding of HR processes, benefits management, and compliance.
Experience working with ADP or similar payroll and benefits management platforms.
Exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
