Job Description

Our client is a young public company based in Houston, Texas, and they seek to add an Accounting Manager or Senior Manager to their management team to be responsible for the SEC reporting function of this growing SaaS AI company. The company is very young and entrepreneurial, so you must be comfortable leading and building teams in addition to being very "hands on" in the day to day details. Will work very closely with the C-Suite in growing and operating this company!

Manager/Senior Accounting Manager Job Description:


Ongoing Responsibilities:
  1. Lead core finance function activities (A/P, A/R, journal entries, cash management, GL) on a day-to-day basis
  2. Prepare monthly management accounts and operational results (including KPIs) and present to Executive Leadership Team
  3. Prepare periodic materials for presentation to audit & risk committee and board of directors
  4. Prepare and lead development of quarterly, annual and periodic SEC filings
  5. Lead preparation for periodic results presentations, investor presentations, and other investor communications
  6. Lead ongoing interactions with banks and other non-shareholder capital providers
  7. Manage outsourced providers for financial / operating software (e.g., NetSuite, HubSpot)
  8. Manage outsourced service providers for sales tax 
  9. Lead interactions with Big 4 external audit firm
  Requirements and skills:
  1. B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance (C.P.A. required)
  2. 4-6 years minimum experience
    • Proven working experience in large auditing firm; audit experience with public companies
    • Preferably experience as Accounting Manager, preferably in a public-company environment
  3. Advanced computer skills on NetSuite (NetSuite native)
  4. Ability to direct and lead others and communicate effectively
  5. Proven knowledge of financial reporting and general accounting as well as accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  6. Ability to engage in data analytics
  7. High attention to detail and accuracy
Working Arrangements:
  1. Position is based in Houston, TX and requires occasional short trips (a few days or less) to Houston area operations locations (within driving distance)
  2. There are opportunities to work remote part of the time
  3. Salary range is competitive based on your experience with variable compensation up to 30% of base salary as well as an attractive public company equity package
