Our client is a significant, well capitalized, and rapidly growing Private Equity firm in Houston, and they seek a proven Accountant to join their "corporate" team. This position will engage in general accounting, financial reporting, and analysis to support the executive team and Board of Directors. The Position: Position Title:   Accountant Location:  Houston, TX Responsibilities:  The Accountant will be engaged as a key team member to our growing Corporate  Accounting Team and will be a key contributor in all areas of our accounting, reporting, and special project activities. This position has potential for professional growth and advancement as the finance function looks to scale with the incredible growth of the firm.
Specific responsibilities will include:
•   Assist in the monthly and quarterly accounting close processes and be able to recommend and implement improvements where needed
•   Monitor and assist in monthly results analysis
•   Prepare and maintain accurate entity cash positionsÂ
•   Prepare and deliver monthly GL reconciliationsÂ
•   Assist with various regulatory filings Â
•   Coordinate with external auditor and provide assistance as needed
•   Assist in preparation of various Management (internal) reporting deliverablesÂ
•   Special projects and ad hoc reporting as directed by executive management
•   Engage in improving accounting technology functionality
•   Cross train with other finance functions and collaborate on projects (where applicable)Â
•   Assist in research of accounting guidance and implementation of such policies
•   Contribute to the effective operation and continuous improvement of the internal control function as it relates to finance activitiesÂ
? The Person: Qualifications:Â Â The preferred candidate will possess all or most of the following:
•   Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance required (Master’s in Accounting or MBA is a plus)
•   Significant exposure to general accounting and financial reporting, including internal controls, is required
•   2-5 years of experience is required
•   CPA is a plusÂ
•   Strong accounting and U.S. GAAP background required
•   Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, Power BI and other similar programs is a plus
•   Experience with a large scale ERP (SAP, Oracle, etc) is strongly preferred
•   Financial services industry-related experience is a plus
