Accountant II/Senior Accountant
Position Description
• Assist in the preparation of bi-weekly margin and inventory forecast by gathering information from scheduling and business development to update pertinent financial models.
• Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools.
• Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
• Timely monthly close responsibilities for P&L preparation, variance analysis, journal entries, accrual analysis, and results presentation to management.
• Responsible for product accounting and revenue reporting. Work closely with the scheduling and inventory groups to track monthly product movements.
• Perform financial accounting duties; generate automated and manual monthly revenue invoices for sales plants and processing plants.
• Work closely with scheduling department as it relates to pipeline and product purchase invoices by reviewing for accuracy and processing payments.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts in Blackline as assigned by supervisor.
• Clear and resolve supplier and customer accounts receivable issues on a timely basis.
• Maintain SOX compliance as it relates to recorded revenues and approved supporting documentation.
• Perform additional Ad Hoc duties as assigned by Accounting Manager.
Position Requirements
Position Requirements:
• Degree in Accounting or Finance with 3 – 7 years of accounting experience in oil and gas industry.
• CPA or MBA preferred.
• Advanced proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Must be detail-oriented, highly organized and self-motivated.
• Able to complete work in a prioritized and organized manner.
• Must possess and demonstrate strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of individuals and personalities at all levels, internally and externally.
• Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes, with ability to solve complex problems through solution oriented analysis.
• Capable of working and completing work with minimal direct supervision
