Job Description

SUMMARY:  A privately held company with numerous locations across Texas is seeking an experienced AV Systems Technician to join their team.  In this role you will be the go to person for all AV systems including installation, support, planning, and maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in integrated control systems, AV installations, and network configurations. This role requires hands-on experience with Crestron and Lutron controllers, remote and custom iPad controls, and various AV and security systems. The technician will be responsible for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of AV and networking systems in various environments, ensuring optimal functionality and client satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Program system controllers, including Crestron and Lutron, with a practical understanding of integrated control systems.
  • Develop and maintain Crestron remote controls and custom iPad controls for AV systems.
  • Conceptualize component interactions and installation environments to ensure functionality before physical installation.
  • Install, test, and maintain two- and four-wire speaker systems.
  • Work with Sonos and Apple Music play systems to ensure seamless audio distribution.
  • Mount Ethernet antennas and DirecTV satellites on various surfaces (brick, vinyl siding, wood, etc.).
  • Set up, pre-configure, and program networks, control systems, cameras, and NVRs.
  • Install AV equipment using hand and power tools; terminate and finish out cabling (CAT-6, Coaxial, Fiber).
  • Create and maintain documentation for AV and networking systems to support remote troubleshooting.
  • Provide ongoing support for printing systems and security systems, with training provided as needed.
  • Travel regularly within Texas to inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot AV and networking systems at remote sites.
  • Provide support during weekends and holidays as needed to resolve critical issues.
  • Provide direct support to C-level executives, ensuring system functionality outside standard working hours when required.
  • Work independently to meet deadlines and adapt to challenging situations in remote locations.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to create solutions with on-hand components in remote locations.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of client networks and home systems.
REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Experience: 4-6 years in AV installation, home automation, networking, or a related field.
  • Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor’s in IT, Engineering, or related field is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of IP networks and network equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive, customer-service-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with AV and network documentation practices.
  • Ability to climb and work from ladders up to 35 feet.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining AV, security, and networking systems
  • Experience with maintaining printing systems.
  • Industry certifications related to AV or networking are a plus.
