Job Description


Our Houston headquartered energy company is seeking an experienced Azure Administrator. Your role encompasses various tasks, from creating and deploying group policies to configuring and testing backups for both disk and virtual machines. You'll handle deploying Azure virtual servers for hosted applications and remote Windows desktops, as well as installing and configuring security applications and business tools using virtual resources. Priority areas include Azure and M365 infrastructure, server and application upgrades, Active Directory maintenance, DNS management, SSL Certificate deployment, and ensuring round-the-clock availability of IT environments. You'll also play a crucial role in documenting user permissions, managing change, and troubleshooting domain-wide issues in collaboration with our partners and Microsoft.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and configure company hardware, servers, and virtual infrastructure
  • Manage Azure, Active Directory, DNS, M365, and network accounts
  • Conduct regular internal reviews and prepare executive summary reports for accuracy and process adherence
  • Maintain documentation of change controls and IT procedures
  • Develop and maintain group policy objects to enhance efficiency and address company issues
  • Monitor performance, alerts, and outages of major IT systems
  • Conduct security and compliance reviews and prepare findings reports
  • Deploy hosted applications with SSL Certificates and maintain domain security protocols
  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements to existing systems, networks, and platforms
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts, batch file scripts, and other automation tools for Windows and Azure packages
  • Administer Microsoft Teams configuration for groups, meetings, and VOIP conference rooms
  • Ensure compliance with change management procedures for production upgrades, configuration changes, and outages
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry changes to improve efficiency and budget management

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of IT industry experience, with at least 3 years focused on systems administration in Azure and M365 environments
  • Hands-on experience with physical and virtual Microsoft operating systems, particularly Windows 10+ and Server 2019+
  • Ability to manage company domain objects, including employee network accounts, workstations, security groups, GPOs, registry settings, and scripts
  • Proficiency in creating technical reports and executive summaries, detailing IT project results, metrics, and adherence to IT control policies
