ABOUT THE ROLE
The Tax Senior will be a key contributor to the firm’s expanding tax practice, managing client engagements, mentoring staff, and delivering high-quality tax compliance and consulting services. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated tax professional who is eager to take on leadership responsibilities and grow within a supportive, people-focused environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead tax engagements in collaboration with managers and partners, including scheduling, staffing, and overseeing completion of returns.
Provide the first level of technical review for tax returns and research complex technical issues.
Manage internal and client deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact to proactively address questions, gather information, and identify planning opportunities.
Prepare and review quarterly estimates and year-end projections.
Respond to IRS and state tax notices.
Supervise, train, and mentor Tax Associates and Interns, ensuring proper prioritization and completion of assignments.
Act as a Project Manager to oversee workflow and team performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
CPA license preferred; CPA eligibility required and active pursuit of licensure is expected.
2–3+ years of experience, preferably in public accounting.
Proficiency in partnership, S corporation, C corporation, and individual taxation.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to perform technical tax research, summarize findings, and communicate effectively.
Demonstrated skills in coaching and developing junior team members.
Commitment to community involvement and giving back.
