ABOUT THE ROLE
The Head of Digital Transformation and Product will lead all aspects of digital execution, customer engagement, and product strategy. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this leader will bridge business and technology, setting product management frameworks, overseeing release cycles, and ensuring digital initiatives deliver measurable value. The role partners closely with the Head of Engineering, Data Science, IT Operations, and Chief Architect to execute a robust software roadmap and drive enterprise-wide digital transformation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Define customer engagement and execution strategies aligned with digital transformation goals
Chair leadership councils and steering committees focused on digital and AI strategy
Collaborate with business sponsors to set workflow transformation and value creation targets
Act as a change agent for digital transformation, fostering engagement and adoption across portfolio companies
Benchmark industry trends to inform product direction and maintain competitive advantage
Establish product management and release management disciplines, including product definition, release cycles, and quality assurance
Define agile execution models and oversee program increment planning, sprints, and retrospectives
Partner with the Chief Architect to establish and enforce engineering standards
Develop clear roles and responsibilities between business sponsors and product owners
Manage financial planning, budget stewardship, ROI reporting, and vendor relationships
Ensure BCP, SLA, and OLA compliance across digital initiatives
Collaborate with teams to improve operational performance and technical capabilities
Represent the organization at technical conferences and industry consortiums
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science in Engineering required
Master’s degree or MBA preferred
Minimum 15 years of product management and release management experience
Experience with SaaS tools and familiarity with the energy industry is advantageous
Proven success managing large-scale software development projects (40+ FTEs)
Experience leading decentralized and offshore teams
Prior financial or private equity experience a plus
Strong expertise in software release, agile delivery, and quality management
Familiarity with cloud and SaaS deployments; Azure experience preferred
Domain knowledge of upstream digital transformation use cases
Track record of building and deploying enterprise-scale digital platforms
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with ADO or similar agile tools
Knowledge of standard software packages
Experience leveraging large, complex datasets to solve real-world problems
Proven ability to expand organizational presence in technical communities
