ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our Client is a private equity–backed manufacturer headquartered in Houston, with multiple locations across the U.S. and Europe. With a long-standing reputation for quality and growth, the company continues to expand organically and has recently reorganized its accounting team. They are now seeking an experienced Controller to join the leadership team in a newly created role, driving financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and system enhancements to support continued growth.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Controller will manage full-cycle accounting, oversee financial reporting, and optimize systems—specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC). This role will provide meaningful data analysis, manage compliance, and serve as a strategic partner within the leadership team. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader who enjoys guiding teams, solving problems, and building processes to strengthen financial operations. RESPONSIBILITIES
Month-End Close
  • Lead and actively participate in the monthly close process.
  • Educate and support staff to close knowledge gaps.
  • Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting with sound balance sheet reconciliations.

Compliance
  • Maintain financials in accordance with GAAP.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Monitor bank covenants and meet all reporting requirements.

Functional Oversight
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, driving workflow improvements.
  • Enhance efficiencies within Microsoft Dynamics BC and related ERP integrations.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development for accounting staff.

Treasury
  • Manage weekly bank payments with proper review and precision.
  • Review daily banking transactions, prepare daily cash reports, and update 13-week cash forecasts.

Audits and Field Exams
  • Manage the annual financial audit and mid-year bank field exams.
  • Oversee annual physical inventory counts and ensure accurate accounting support.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
  • CPA and/or MBA (required).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (required); experience with Power BI preferred.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with a positive, professional demeanor.
  • Professional maturity in working with colleagues, vendors, customers, and third parties.
  • Self-motivated and focused, with the ability to prioritize effectively and deliver results.
